Getting Started
First, make sure that you’ve signed up for a Unimsgs account. It is free to sign up for an account.
1. Add Your Gateways
Begin by adding the gateways you want to use for sending messages. From the side menu, select ‘Gateways,’ then click the ‘New Gateway’ button.
Next, choose the provider you have an account with from the available providers list. If you don’t have an account or need to perform some testing, you can create a mock gateway.
If your provider isn’t listed, you can request its addition by clicking ‘Add new provider’ under the providers list. We will ensure to support the requested provider as soon as possible.
Each organization can request up to five providers at a time.
2. Test Your Gateways
Once you've added your gateways, it's good practice to test them. To do this, click on the gateway’s name in the list, which will take you to the gateway’s dashboard.
Next, click the three dots next to the gateway’s name and select ‘Send Message.’ Enter the details for the test message and click send. A message box will appear, showing the status of the action.
If the message fails, you can move on to tracing and debugging the issue, which will be covered in a later section.
3. Create you first service
Now it’s time to create your first service. From the sidebar, click on ‘Services,’ then the ‘New Service’ button on the services page.
Select the type of service you wish to create and enter a name for it. We recommend keeping the name short and descriptive.
Once the service is created, a quick wizard will guide you through the basic configuration steps, prompting you to select the gateways and API keys you want to add.
Select the gateway you previously created and set it as the default gateway by clicking the ‘Set default’ option, then proceed to the next step. Since no API keys have been created yet, you can skip the Add API keys step by closing the window.
You can always add or update gateways and API keys through the service’s dashboard later.
4. Configuring the service workflow
The service is currently operating under the basic workflow. In this setup, any message sent through the service is routed to the default gateway if one is set, or to the first gateway in the list if no default gateway is specified.
To change the default gateway, go to the Gateways tab, click the three dots next to the desired gateway, and choose either ‘Set Default’ or ‘Remove Default’. Each service can have either one default gateway or none.
For more advanced automation and workflow control, you can use the Workflows tab within the service’s dashboard.
5. Test your service
It is recommended to send a test message after making changes to the service to ensure everything is functioning properly.
To test the service, navigate to the service dashboard, click the three dots at the end of the tabs bar, and select ‘Send Message’. Send a test message to confirm the service is working as expected.
